Rock on Jamie

Jamie Oliver's 'Fifteen' program, a training scheme for disadvantaged young people to train as chefs with top restaurants and chefs in the business, is set to offer a program for young people with cannibis habits.

We need more schemes like this in our country. Lead the way Jamie!

We need more young people with Cannabis habits?

Hmmmm

Last night a teenage girl was being interviewed about a survey that said folks were more rude these days. She said, she thought people were more polite in the 80s... that was before you were born, the interviewer said, yes, but I was told more people smoked pot... what does that have to do with the question, the interviewer asked... well, people who smoke pot are nicer, aren't they? She asked...

PS I don't... perhaps that is why i am such a pain... but why does Jamie want more young people to use pot?

If i was in charge, i'd legalise pot for over 21s. before that it can cause cannabis psychosis, by preventing the teenage mind "rewiring" properly, I'm told. I'm sure CA will kick my pseudo-psychological ass if i'm wrong ;o)

but yeah, legalise it and all will happen is sales of sofas will skyrocket. big news for retailers.

half my collegues smoke dope. they are fine. they drive. Sometimes they even use machines, although they are told not to...

I think the idea is to help them to stop smoking pot, not to encourage it!

I think its a good scheme - it gives them a chance to succeed and offers them support where most employers would just offer them the boot.

I dont get it CA?!?!?!?!

If thee has, at the core of thy scheme, the need for young folks to use Cannabis in order that they can qualify for the program, is not not a scheme to encourage Cannabis smoking!
And he seemed such an nice young man when he came to the US to speak about school lunch programs!!!
My my...
you never can tell...

Nah - you don't *need* to be a pot smoker - but if you are on the scheme and you are, then you get support to quit, not the sack.

Does that make more sense?!?!

Well could be, but to encourage them to start smoking pot, so they could stop... I don't know... maybe I am just to square... I will have to mull this over...

From the Guardian artical suggest by PL...
"Mr Graham said he hoped young people would heed the musician's words, at least on the evils of heroin. But he probably got the answer to that at his own breakfast table. "My children are completely unimpressed about Lemmy," he said sadly. 'He's older than I am you know. That's fatal to one's children, isn't it?'"

Ain't it the truth...

Just saw Tony Blair monthly press conference, commented about it on Martin's great, a smidge unfair... frankly... I think he might wish to take Jamie up on his offer when he leaves office, if he thinks the idea that the police are the real final arbitor of what constitutes civil liberties, and wont abuse that, well, 1. ask John Stalker... 2. What has he been smoking...

Well, it is quite noble of Jamie Oliver to offer such a support programme to trainees at his restaurant.

But according to our local paper (I live in Hoxton where the restaurant is) the young people have been taking up cannabis because of the pressure they are under on the training programme...
